Derek Fletcher

Derek Fletcher is entering his seventh year as a choir director in Texas. After receiving his degree in Choral Music Education from the University of North Texas, Mr. Fletcher served as a Choir Director at Nimitz Middle School in his hometown of Odessa, Texas for five years. In his time at Nimitz Middle School he served as Associate Director for three years and Head Director for two years. Nimitz Choirs under Mr. Fletcher’s direction consistently earned Sweepstakes at UIL and superior ratings at various adjudicated events. Mr. Fletcher is an active member of TCDA and TMEA. He has served as section leader for TMEA Region & District Honor Choirs and the TCDA All State MS/JH Choir. Mr. Fletcher also served as Associate Choir Director at Birdville High School for one year.


Mr. Fletcher loves cooking, going to the movies and singing karaoke with friends. Mr. Fletcher is so excited to be re-entering the Middle School classroom at Rakow Middle School this Fall!
